1. How did the colonists unite America?
Thw colonists fought with the British soldiers and the colonists got helped
from France. By proclaimming The Declaration of Independence, the colonists
united America.
2. How did the legislature take part in the structure of the federal government?
There were two parts in the legislature. The Senate stood for the States and the
Houses of Representatives stood for the people's interests in the States. The
legislature made laws and impeached the president.
3. How did the American revolution happen?
Britian ruled the 13 Colonies with absolute power and made lots of
acts and these made the colonists discontent. Also, the British
government passed the Intolerable Acts. The colonists feared that Britian
would rule them with absolute power and so the American revolution happened.
4. Why did the people in the Enlightenment object to absolute power?
The people in the Enlightenment objected to absolute power because they knew that
everyone was equal even the kings and they have many rights by reading
Enlightenment thinkers' writings. If the king ruled with absolute power and
suppressed their natural rights, then not everyone was equal. So they objected
to absolute power.
5. Explain one of the British acts that created economic discontent
amongst the American colonists.
The 13 Colonies must sell their raw materials to Britian so that Britian could
buy their raw materials at a low price. But then the 13 colonists would earn less money
and so this British act created economic discontent amongst the American colonists.
